Workers Compensation for Stress

Workers Compensation for Stress

Hi

Has anyone successfully claimed workers compensation in NSW for stress and depression due to sexual harassment at their job?
I am going through some issues with 2 male co workers and I can’t mentally handle it much longer I just need a break. I am casual so I can’t take leave otherwise I won’t get paid.
These incidences are being investigated at work with a manager being terminated, the other has handed in their resignation. I haven’t got any support from my work at all throughout this ordeal.

Thanks

Start with your GP.

Start with going to your doctor.
Also, not being critical but if the people involved have been removed by your workplace how can you say they haven’t been supportive? They he clearly taken your complaint seriously. The other option could be to approach your HR department and discuss how you are feeling and see if they can provide any assistance.

You can go to your GP who will assess your mental health and determine whether you are eligible for workers compensation caused from stress. If so, you will then be listed as either not fit for work or suitable duties and will be paid 95% of your pre injury average weekly earnings.
Id recommend that before you consider this you should request a meeting with HR taking a witness along with you to discuss needing additional support from the company including access to free counselling.
