#Trigger warning, sexual abuse #
I am a single mum with 4 kids. 3 at home. I have my kids full time no help from their father.
I have been doing this along for nearly 13 years. My kids were sexually abused by their father, which had affected them all.
My third child is a boy, 16 years old. He has ADHD, suspected autism as well as stress disorder.
He is currently in year 10, and teachers are asking why he doesn't have a laptop. While he was at the junior campus, I bought him a laptop, that lasted 12 months before he destroyed it. The school then funded him one, that lasted another year. From then we decided that he would borrow one every day from the library to use. Now in senior school, they don't have as many laptops for kids to borrow so some days be misses out . I have told the school I will not be buying him another one as I cannot afford for him to destroy another one.
Anything that has meaning to him he will destroy. I bought him new headphones for Christmas, they are already in the bin. He has slashed the tyred of his bike, he has no awards etc from school as he destroys them. He has also punched a hole in his door, which I need to replace as I am renting.
I am just exhausted, and struggling to know what to do.
I live in a rural area as well so am very limited with resources.
Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, hope.....

Buy a laptop, and check it In everyday at the library. He didn’t destroy there’s, so maybe the check in system was working.
Unable to do this. I wanted to keep the last one at school but they won't do it
Buy a laptop. You're disadvantaging his future by impacting his ability to succeed in his schooling. Kids with disabilities require more support, not less.
I wish it was as easy as that. I cannot afford to keep buying laptops for him to destroy. He destroyed 2 laptops in 2 years.
