I'm needing to enrol my cousins child into school. They will be in our care with the mothers permission. They live remote. The school is requiring a document to say we have guardianship but when I called the courthouse they had no clue. There is no change with Centrelink so is it a Stat Dec? We are Qld. Please help.

If the child is just with you for school, you're not a legal guardian as they are still technically in their parents care. The parents are still in control of health decisions, school decisions, care decisions etc. You are just providing supervision, care and board. No different to a nanny or boarding school. Maybe the person that told you that is confused about the set up. The parents need to organise enrolment etc.

I would assume the parents enrol and list you as someone with permissions.
Enrolment might be tricky that way if catchment is strict, as many people try to use a relatives address etc - then you’d have to prove they live under your care. So you’d need to update and give Centrelink the correct info (which you should be doing anyway).
