Look on the post office website it will have it on there. From memory you start the application online then make an appointment to see someone at the PO to verify documents and take your photo and get things finalised. If you're born after a certain year you also need a parents birth certificate or passport, I was born in 1980 and didn't need it but my son born in 2000 did so its somewhere between there lol. It would have it on the website.

Read the info then a scroll down to the bottom and 'click here'.

Create an account, then it takes you through an online form with multiple sections. Take your time, and expect you'll need to exit at one or more points to find info & come back later.

You'll need documents for ID. There are options, and how many forms of ID you need depends on the quality (Medicare, drivers licence, utility bills, etc) Originals, not copies. https://www.passports.gov.au/getting-passport-how-it-works/documents-you...

You'll also need a guarantor, who is not family & has known you for over 12 months. They'll need to fill in a small section.

Photos. Aust post is best. Don't do it yourself. I suggest doing that before starting the online application. You do need to write on the back of one of the photos but it's clearly shown how to do this on the application.

Once done, the system will generate a double sided page to print & take to the post office. Read it carefully. It will tell you what you need to take (original forms of ID & passport photos). No appointment is necessary at most post offices (they no longer check forms), but avoid peak times.

You'll receive notification the passport is on its way. You'll need your ID to be given the passport. I think someone who lives at the same address, same surname can pick it up.

If you have your documents ready, choose a quiet time & bring your patience, it's not very difficult, but can be a slow process to gather everything you need.

Note that I renewed/got new passports for kids earlier this year & it was a new, updated process so has possibly changed a little by now & my memory might be a little off.
