First time home buyers.

Can someone please give me some insight into the process of buying a house? Expenses? Anything else that you think we should/need to know?
Any rebates we might be eligible for?
First time home buyers. We will be living in the house and we’re based in NSW.
Thanks in advance, your help is very appreciated.

My advice would be to find a mortgage broker. Ours was fabulous and was able to answer every question we had and guide us through the whole process

A quick Google search, first home owners is 10k in NSW, purchase price must be below 600k to qualify. Google stamp duty calculators NSW to see what that will cost based on approximate purchase price. Allow a couple of grand for legal costs. Get a mortgage broker, most don't charge, as the other commenter said, they answer all your questions. However, do some research first, before you see them, like how much you hope to buy for, postcode etc.

Also, make sure you really research houses in the area you want to buy and follow the market. When buying a house, you need to take initiative, get out there and learn all you can. View a lot of properties, don't judge on photos, when I was looking, it was like a second job.

The 10ki think is only for new builds, or completely renovated old homes. First home buyers I think are exempt from stamp duty under a certain purchase price.
