Real Estate Sales Agent

Has anyone changed industries/careers at 34? I work in IT and technology. I’d love to be a residential sales agent. Am I dreaming or can I actually achieve this at an older age. A lot of the profiles I’ve read around my local area have been doing the job for a very long time or are really young.

I’ve already contacted the training school I need to get my full real estate licence. I’m just scared I’ll fall flat on my face with no income and a family to support.

I changed. To be honest, having the age is more helpful - people just take you more seriously and assume you’ve been doing it longer. And your life experience will probably help you be good at it faster, more able to connect with a wide demographic of clients.

Your literal double over here! I was a bit younger but that doesn’t matter, I worked in IT for 7 years and it was so mundane, I’d wanted to do real estate for years and finally bit the bullet and started the study. I completed my Cert IV as a single mum of 3 working full time - it’s go at your own pace and super supportive (have a look at RETAC) I’m now three years in to my real estate career at 30 as a fully qualified sales agent and property manager and am now doing my diploma in property. Best decision I ever made. Goodluck!
