Looking for recommendations for a reliable 4x4 for family trips.
Needs to be good for offroading and under 30K.
I'm so lost ss to what is good and what to look out for. Would love to know what any of you mums have and love!

To be honest you are going to find it hard to get a 4x4 under $30k without a lot of kms on it. They are holding their price really well at the moment.
In saying that it's going to depend if you want a dual cab or not. Depends on the amount of seats,kids and what you want to do.
My suggestion is watch some videos on YouTube on comparisons ( there is alot) on types, yr models you like the look of and go from there.
Make sure you test drive.
Are you looking for a 4x4 to actually take off road or because they look like bigger cars? I ask as this could differ as to what I would recommend
I would be using it for offroading, towing, etc
Wagon all the way. I had to use a family members dual cab last week with two car seats and HATED it. It felt so cramped because the front seats had to so far forward to accommodate the rear facing seat.
I also love the freedom of telling my kid to grab something from the boot when it’s raining and I don’t want to get out. 😂
I have a Prado. Independent suspension so not going to do any extreme wheeling, but it’s a great 4WD and tows our camper or boat well. You might find an older model for under 30k.
