Have a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a card sent to her home.
I have a friend that buys me gifts because I help her out a lot. I find it awkward. I help her because she is my friend. A verbal thankyou and maybe doing something for me at some stage (if the need presents) is what I actually value.
What's her "thing"?
I like gardening so usually get a lairy plant.
A book about, or inline with, her interests (biography, autobiography, cooking etc).
A voucher for a clothing shop you know she likes.
A voucher to an online beauty store like Oz Beauty.
My best friend loves receiving mail with a stamp in the letterbox. So every so often I send her a friendship card with a nicely written thank you appreciating our friendship. Even though I can walk to her house, I always post it properly with a stamp ;) Goes down a treat.
I have also taken her out to lunch, just the two of us, so we can spend some time together not 'doing' anything.
