No career direction

No career direction

I’m 40 this year and need some career direction.
I currently work in admin at a great place but I just don’t feel fulfilled and there’s no room for progression.
I want to do something that I feel passionate about or more fulfilled but I really don’t know which direction to take and retraining (I have no qualifications) can be expensive if it doesn’t work out.
I know I don’t want to do teaching, nursing, accounting etc.
I also don’t want anything too stressful, I can be quite introverted.
Im starting to feel quite depressed that I can’t find any direction for the next 20+ years of my working life.

Do community services at Tafe, you can go in a lot of different directions with it and work out what you want while you're doing the course.

Is there something that you've always dreamt of doing but life got in the way? I'm 41 in a few days and for the past nearly 20 years I've been applied many times, on and off (didn't apply when the child was little) to become a dispatcher for the Ambulance. I never had much luck, for whatever reason, but this time I've gotten all the way through and start on June 19. And I've never felt more ready. Plus my son is 10 at the end of the year so he has a much better understanding of what I'm about to do. I really don't think the shift work would have been good for him mentally before. It's taken me forever but it's finally happening.
