Kids Curiosity

Hi Sisterhood.

I am after some parenting advice

My child is 7 and has become curious with his own little body.. Humping, rubbing on things..

I need advice, as a single parent raising a boy on my own, I’m a little stuck..

Father isn’t in the picture, and no male figures to talk to him.

I have told him these things he needs to do privately, but he was laying on his bed rudey and the dog licked his “private part” and I walked in to this happening.

He was so scared when I walked in and he started crying..

I had a conversation with him about his private parts, consent and things he shouldn’t be doing. he said he didn’t even know what was going on.

I need help.. books, videos or anything..

I actually don’t think it’s that much to worry about. He’s exploring, and if he doesn’t have role models, siblings or cousins or close friends then he has no guidance, and you will know his every move. I don’t think it’s sexual, he’ll work it out and grow out of it.

You are doing the right things. Just keep up regular chats with him about privacy and no one is to touch his privates except for him and to cover up if the dog comes near him. I’ve always told my kids absolutely no one, not even teachers, friends, family. No one is to touch them ever. The only person that may need to check them is a Dr and that mummy will be there.I talk to them about being at school same thing , no one! I keep very open so they are comfortable to come to me all the time with anything. I pull my kids up on the humping stuff, kids at school do it and think it’s funny. Just keep very open with him and honest.
