Grey hair on child

Grey hair on child

I noticed the other day that my 13 year old son had a few grey hairs above his ear. They weren’t blonde, they were actually white, no colour at all. He’s mentioned tjat a few of his public hairs are likewise.
Is this really bad? I’ve never heard of a young teenager getting greys before

White hairs can happen. I went to school with a boy that had red hair with a white patch. It’s the way it grew. If it’s new I’d probably get it checked out by a doctor just so you know for sure (highly doubt Dr would actually look at pubic hairs)

I knew a kid in my class who had white and black hair. He was 8.

He seemed fine. It's probably something to do with genetics or dermatological stuff. Run it by a GP but it's probably a genetics, inherited trait.

Like my son just suddenly he started growing red hair in his beard. He is 17 and has normally dark hair.

But as a baby, he was a dirty blonde blue eyes cherub. By the time he started kindergarten, he was 6 with dark hair.

Now he has been growing out his boy man beard, there's patches of red.

I'm sure it's genetics.

There is red hair in both sides with both aunts (my sister and his father's sister) being red heads. My sister has gone from a strawberry blond to a dirty blond. My sister in law is still a red.

My daughter 13 has some white/ grey hairs not many but I often see one or 2. Her best friend has her whole hair with silver / grey hair which is very noticeable and she has black hair. It looks great! She doesn’t mind it. Other kids say stuff but she isn’t bothered. She can dye it if she wants but good for her, for not giving a crap.
