Credit rating and home loans

Back story - I have a credit default which has now been paid off.

My husband doesn’t know about this as it was whilst coming out of my DV relationship and I am so cautious with money and everything is paid on time.

However, we are so close to buying a house and I’m worried my history will cause us not to get approved for a loan.

The actual default clears next year.

Should I contact a company like Credit Clean Australia to help? Or do we wait till next year to buy a house?

Just put it off
For another year. Honestly the house prices are so ridiculous at the moment that you are best to wait anyway. I’d sit it out and keep Saving hard towards your house. Get all your debts and bills paid off credit cards etc anything he has on credit get it paid off.

Just wait. I had an unpaid default removed automatically once the 5 year period was up and my credit score went from low 600’s to 913 overnight. What is your current score? If it’s below 700 you will struggle to get approval. Don’t waste your time or money trying to get it removed.

Have you accessed your credit score to see what it is?
Get your score and talk to a mortgage broker.

I used a company called restore my credit, my broker actually recommended them. It was so easy to get an old default off from a phone bill... It helped it was paid though too. It cost $1200 but fixed my credit almost instantly
