Melbourne CBD appartments

Please only tried and tested accommodation

Looking for short stay holiday accommodation in the CBD.

Must have balcony, seperate living and bedroom areas. 2 bedroom minimum.

I have been looking on the internet , I think I find a good one then read trip advisor to find many many bad reviews.

I do not know Melbourne at all. Any information would be appreciated

People are more likely to leave a poor review than a good one. For every bad review you read, there's probably 10 people who had a good experience but didn't feel the need to post about it. Go with your gut, if you think you found a good one and it's what you need and where, just book it.

I find booking.com to be best, you can filter for what you want, sort by highest rated and it shows you how far from the CBD things are, so you'd know if you need to factor in public transport to get to places.

You need to know what reviews to look for. People give one star reviews because someone didn't answer the phone. If someone is claiming it's dirty then they should post photos. If they are claiming it was noisy what was the problem, noisy guests which isn't constant or is it right next to a nightclub? If a place is consistently bad it will have reviews that point out the same issues like cleanliness, security, maintenance, noise. Complaints about customer service should be ignored imo, people will say bad customer service when they don't get their way. Ignore the reviews that aren't relevant and seem like one offs.

My favourite place to stay in a nearby town (where the nightlife is lol) gets bad reviews all the time because it's old, hasn't been updated in years, right on the highway but it's spotless, bed is comfy, large and we are heavy sleepers so the noisy road doesn't bother us. We have stayed in more modern places when that one is booked out which get good reviews and find them to be not that clean, not a lot of space and limited parking.
