Contact naps/bassinet naps

My baby is 12 weeks old and will only contact nap during the day. As soon as I try to put him down he wakes and won’t settle unless I pick him up again. He sleeps fine in his bassinet of a night time but everyone keeps telling me he should be napping in it during the day or I’ll be stuck contact napping forever. Does anyone have any tips for getting him down during the day?

At that age mine either slept in my bed during the day or I strapped them in the baby carrier and they contact napped (or I just sat and enjoyed the cuddles!). You do what works for you. Bubs wont do it forever

They won't do it forever, I promise. Some babies need to be close to you and that's not your fault or anything to fix. And yes, it's a pain in the rear end if it prevents you from getting stuff done during nap time. I used to spend a lot of time with my (now 11 year old) baby in the carrier strapped to my front. If that's a viable option, do it.

Your baby is super little. You do what works for them. Science supports lots of loving physical contact. Your biggest learning curve as a parent is rolling with the ups and downs, learning to accept that your pre conceived expectations are probably not going to happen and ignoring everyone else's opinions and just going with what works and listening to your doctors etc.
