CCS and on unpaid leave

CCS and on unpaid leave

Hi Ladies, currently pregnant with baby number 2 and have a CCS question. I’d ideally like to keep my 2 year old in daycare two days a week, reasons being- it would be so hard to get her resettled for when I go to work again(it was hard enough the first time) and secondly, so I have some one on one time with my second child.
If my work hours are technically zero with Centrelink, my eligible rebate hours go to zero. Surely there’s a way for this?
I plan on having the first 4 months off as unpaid leave and then getting the 18 weeks paid leave from Centrelink. We have saved for this but obviously didn’t allow for full price daycare fees.
Does anyone have any info on this? I’ll
Obviously call Centrelink but just so I have some insight as I’ve had nothing to do with Centrelink apart from maternity leave and CCS. Thank you

i just did a quick google, my child is older and havent dealt with this for years.
it says it goes off the lesser of the two of you, so thats you.
if less than 8 hours a fortnight of activity, thats you, you get up to 24 hours per fortnight subsidised care if your household income is less than 70,015.
if income more than that, it appears you don't get any.
i think the whole premise of it is to help working families, not provide tax payer subsidised childcare at your convenience.

You’ll get about a day a week unless you’re doing an approved activity to need more. It’s one of those costs youll have to wear if you want to keep her place and routine.
