Who has eloped?

Who has eloped?

Has anyone here eloped? Who did you have at the ceremony? Did your friends/family that weren’t there get upset that they weren’t there? What did you do for it? Pros and cons on eloping? Thinking about eloping?!?!

We booked a trip to Hamilton Island where the wedding package was actually cheaper then if we booked as a holiday.

I sent an individual message to everyone and stated that if they were free on this date…book themselves in

We had 12 people.
I didn’t share any plans, times or involve anyone.
No one had a chance to be upset, everyone enjoyed a small holiday.

We will elope when we finally get around to getting married. Neither of us want the traditional wedding. A few people will be upset but they will forgive us hopefully😂
I find it hard to understand why our marriage is about anyone but my partner and I and why we should put on a show for family and friends when its about our union as a couple. We'll be doing what makes us happy instead 🤷‍♀️

Yep. People will definitely be upset... mainly your immediate family and closest friends so they will likely not tell you that. It may impact on how they think you value your relationship with them though. The people you would have invited for politeness won't care.

We eloped. A wedding wasn't important to us, we just wanted to get married.

We knew that my parents would be upset, so we asked them to be our witnesses.

Everyone else was fine. Hubby's parents had eloped, so they were happy for us.

We had the Celebrant come to our house and we got married at our dinning room table, with my parents and our 16 month old son.

We are both very socially anxious and introverted, so having a wedding with a group of people would not have been a very comfortable experience for us.

Only cost us about $700 for the Celebrant, a nice tablecloth, a candle decoration and a dress for me. We absolutely loved our wedding and would do it the exactly the same, no regrets. It was perfect for us.

Do it for sure. Weddings are a big hype and over rated. Make it about the marriage not wasting your money and stress that goes so fast anyway.
