How to get my preteen to clean his room

Hi ladies

How does everyone get there preteens to clean there bedrooms.

I have a son in is turning 12 in a few days and I’m finding it hard to get him clean his bedroom all I get out of him is an attitude and him telling me that he no that he doesn’t want to do it I have tried to reward him, taken his electrics off him, grounding him, I have even offered to give him pocket money to see if that will help get him motivated but nothing has worked I even told him that told him that I’m going to cancel the cruise we are due to go on at the end of November but nothing so I’m after ideas on how to get him to actually clean it he is also autistic and adhd

My 14 year old boy has started cleaning his room without prompting, there’s light at the end of the tunnel, I promise.
Just keep at it, he will get there 😂. I feel your pain.

Cut off the home wifi until he starts cleaning it. Don’t give electronics back, nothing.

As a ND human, you might need to give him a list to work down so he knows where to start. ADHD means very low attention span to boring tasks so it might take some work. I would work with him to clean it to your standard and then get him to do 1 task a day. then he will stay on top of the routine with out it taking too long or freaking him out. Does he have any particular aversions with his autism? smells, touch etc? try and accommodate those and you will set him up for success
