Are period undies worth the money? I have four daughters and myself for whom I need to buy pads. We use on average $50 - $70 worth of pads and tampons each month! Is it worth investing in the period undies for the five of us? Are they easy to wash? Do they smell?

I have them but I don't really like them for normal to heavy periods, I only use it for the last day or two when it's just basically a discharge. I don't like them because I don't feel fresh in them, I can't see how full or used they are because you can only get them in black, they can be thick and noticeable through clothes and look like you're wearing teenas, they are more difficult to change than pads. I think if any of your daughters are reluctant to use anything with their periods or terrible at changing then they would be good for that but otherwise I don't think they are good! Especially for teenagers who are learning about their cycle and when their heavy days are I just think they aren't helpful there.
Yes, love them
I love them. I use a combo of modibodi, bonds and love Luna.
Mine don’t smell, I rinse them out when I have a shower, or put them in a small bucket and chuck them in a load in a wash.
I haven’t bought pads or tampons for 3 years.
My niece who it quite young has been using them, and her periods are irregular (often) and unpredictable. They’ve really allowed her to get on with life without having to worry if she can manage tampons etc as she also has the swimwear.
It’s a no from me. I brought Modibodi and they all fell apart after just a handful of washes. They leaked - even the ones for heavy periods and I never felt dry. After 3 months I binned them.
Mine did that too. I was really disappointed in them
I use bonds boy legs.
My cycle is pretty regular, very light and very short.
Have a few Modibodi pairs but don't really like them much, the fit is weird.
I love modibodi undies. I wear them all the time as I get a little bladder leakage occasionally, as well a fair bit of discharge in between periods. I find them so much comfier than pads and liners. When I have my period I chuck them in the machine on a rinse cycle morning and night, then they go through the wash with everything else two or three times during the week, depending how often I need to wash. I don’t notice a smell, not like I did when using pads. I’ve got 7 light moderate for between periods (light only comes in gstring, and no thanks!), then 3 moderate heavy and 5 heavy overnight for during my period. Most of them I’ve had for about 2 years, a couple of the light moderate are the original ones I got about 2 1/2 years ago and are only just starting to fall apart. That’s enough to get me through with washing at least once. Maybe try some of the cheaper brands initially, to see what you all think.
I got 3 pairs from Modibodi as well as having a menstrual cup. I prefer the convenience of the undies as it's less stuffing around but I'm only able to use them the first 3 days as once I wash them I feel they take the full month to dry and now I'm convinced they smell so I'm considering going the cup exclusively. The undies do feel like I'm wearing a nappy and feel quite bulky sometimes but again it's a lot easier to chuck on some undies as usual. I'm looking to buy new undies and trial them as the modibodi ones cost a small fortune and I've used them for 4 months and hate the dry time and feel self conscious that they might smell so if suggest trialling a few brands maybe?
I have them and I don't wear them during the day cause my flow can go from zero to nothing too fast. That said i love them for sleeping or lazing around the house. I never thought tampons had side effects but no cramping, or headaches crazy but good. As a tampon user they feel bulky. My daughter is yet to get her periods but i think they would be great when she is waiting for them to be regular with out any mishaps at school. Bonds are probably the fave
