Fear of heights

Does anyone have any tips on getting over a fear of heights? It's that bad I can't stand on a chair without breaking into a sweat. I missed some sightseeing on my honeymoon because I was absolutely terrified of the viewing platform. These are just some examples. I need to get over this so I don't keep missing out.

Upon a quick Google search for 'how to get over phobias,' the going consensus was pretty much this-

'The most effective way to overcome a phobia is by gradually and repeatedly exposing yourself to what you fear in a safe and controlled way'

I cut and pasted that from a website because it seemed to encompass it all in one sentence.

My grandfather had a fear of heights and his job required him to travel to the twin towers often. He refused to go anywhere near the windows and hated it when my grandmother would 'carelessly' stand by them to admire the view 🤣 weirdly enough my cousin also has a fear of heights and our grandfather died when he was a baby which leads me to think it may be genetic. I know none of that helps but thought it was something interesting to share.

All the best in your journey to overcome this fear x

I got over my debilitating phobia of needles using NLP (neurolinguistic programming). It's quick, non invasive & worked by getting me to rethink why I was afraid (mind trying to protect against danger) & finding an alternative for that. I'll never enjoy them but I don't really think about it now which is better than my old routine of panic & passing out!

I used an online one, at home, was quite cheap & took me 20 mins to do a night, only took two weeks. A quick Google search has presented a few options for NLP fear of heights, including YouTube ones.
