Help me find the perfect shorts?

Hi ladies
As I've gotten older (I'm about to turn 36) I'm finding it harder to find clothes that look good but feel comfortable in. My thighs now rub together when I walk, so I wear shorts under dresses in summer, which makes me really hot. I'd love to wear shorts, but I find they ride up and I'm constantly pulling them out of my crotch when I walk. I hate that. Who has this issue? Have you found a stylish pair of shorts that stay put? I don't really like the super fitting ones or that go to your knees, are there any other options? Please help me! šŸ™

Absolutely donā€™t want to offend but Itā€™s not the shorts. You need to lose some weight. Belly and thigh fat is very dangerous not to mention very uncomfortable with chafing and rubbing. Iā€™d encourage you to look at your diet and exercise to try and bring some of the weight down.

Wow! Arenā€™t you a nasty bitch. I doubt you know anything about this woman so get off your high horse. Might be best that you delete your comment to avoid backlash.

Not appropriate or helpful. Body shaming is a form of bullying.

Bahaha, what even is this comment šŸ˜‚

My daughter is a ladies size 4-6, extremely athletic. She still has a problem finding shorts that don't rub/chafe or ride up into her crotch. No amount of weight loss would stop her thighs from touching!

So maybe let's not make presumptuous comments about a person's weight when they're asking a question about comfortable clothes.

You do realise you would need to be severely underweight for your thighs not to touch when you walk? Even skinny people have a natural ball of fat at the tops of their inner thigh, it's how women's bodies are meant to be. Women who have strong leg muscles thighs will always rub each other. What an idiotic comment, let's hope you're not raising your kids to think they are unhealthy if their thighs touch!

I'm 171cm and 59kg and my thighs rub when I walk depending on what I wear.

Hello,
Iā€™m currently loving most styles ā€˜Katieā€™sā€™ has in the linen blend. Try different fabrics and find what feels good. I like linen because itā€™s not too hot and itā€™s not see through. It also washes up nicely and doesnā€™t fade like denim.
The cut of the shorts depends on your body shape. High waisted shorts donā€™t look good on women with lower belly fat (or second stomach) as they tend to accentuate the bulge. HOWEVER if high waisted shorts are accompanied by a fitted more lengthy tee than your eye comes up to the waist area and you donā€™t notice the bulge at all.

If your more of a thigh/cellulite apple shape then knee length elastic shorts are what you need!

Ultimately thoughā€¦ if you feel comfortable, you ooze confidence and that changes anyoneā€™s look!

Iā€™d suggest looking at Katieā€™s, Best n less curvy range, and occasionally Witchery lane, but they can be pricey!
Good luck, and whatever you choose - ROCK IT, OWN IT, FLAUNT IT, because lifeā€™s too short to be unhappy :-)

I'm not a shorts person myself but I've heard awesome things about the Best and less "Breakers" shorts.

I've also seen a lot of ladies wear cotton style bike shorts (cut about 5 cms above the knee) with an oversized tee tucked or tied at the side paired with some cute sandals - looks very stylish and you couldn't possibly get comfier lol.

You can also get these kind of bands you wear around your thighs (sort of like a garter), i think I got mine from a dollar shop šŸ˜‚
So much cooler than wearing a whole pair of shorts under your dresses!

I've had to find the cuts/brands that suit my body shape. My waist sits very high (almost under my arm pits) so I go for hipster shorts otherwise the 'body' of the short is always too short and rides up. I also like fabric with a bit of lycra as it tends to stretch around my walking movement. I don't have any bum, but do have tummy so I have to find shorts with generous front fabric rather than back. I also try and find the shorter lengths in the same styles as a 3/4 or 7/8 pant that already suits me. The cut doesn't change, just the length.
I wait for sales but find Sportscraft and Ezibuy both good. I've also had some success with hand-me-downs from my teen boys. For some reason the cut suits - maybe the length from waist to crotch is more generous?...

I wear good quality nike ( or similar ) bike pants under my summer skirts . They stay firmly in place, and are super stretchy , they are also thin enough without causing extra bulk. They come in knee high, mid thigh , and booty thigh lengths. I even swim in them as they are fast drying and breathable and designed from swim to gym . Best investments I've ever made
