Single Mums in Wagga?

Hi Mamas

I have a contact who is exploring her options for separating from her partner.  She's low income and has a toddler.

She's exploring options for housing for her & bub in or around Wagga.  She might be able to afford a place, but the perfect situation would be if she might be able to find a share house with another mum perhaps.

She doesn't have much of a support network in town, so we're looking at options to make a support network for her and maybe look at housing options.

I don't know where to start to help.  Advice?

Theres so many risks with that, that most single mums wont do it. Different parenting, difficult kids, living with someone elses toddler, what if they move out or get a boyfriend around your kids, what if theres issues with the ex or theyre on and off. And your contact has to consider that as well. She would be much better off renting by herself. A townhouse or apartment is fine for with just one young child, and affordable and safe. There is NRAS for even more affordable rentals. And if shes free to move anywhere, may as well get one of those and go to whereever that is. You can search NRAS properties on realestate.com.au
Then build your community through playgroups and local mum and womens groups and sports, gyms, daycare, etc.
