Menstrual Cups!!!

So the story goes... a friend of was telling me about menstrual cups for ages... so I finally did it and WOW has it changed my LIFE!!!!

SERIOUSLY!! I Don't want to hear all your that's nasty, that's gross BS, this is a post for women who want to try one, have ever thought about trying one or has never heard of them... Take it from me, just do it!!!
Do some research, ask your friends advice, PLEASE dont listen to the negative comments until you've tried it (and given it a real go!)

It's good for you, its good for the world we're leaving behind for kids/grandkids.

Ps- I'm not a hippy lol and I wasn't 100% convinced on it until I tried it on some really good advice.

Good luck!!

I find it gross. Im using one now, its my third menstrual cycle using it and its my last.
Hate putting it in. Its so gross sticking my fingers way up there while on my period.
Ive given it 3 cycles in the hopes I'll get used to it but hell no, can't do this anymore. Makes my period so much worse having to deal with a bloody cup and dirty hands.

I rate period undies waaaay better than cups. It's like not having a period at all.

I love mine 🙌

Period underwear all the way. Cups are crap. Just for those considering one 😂

Everyone has to choose what suits them best. I did think about trying a cup, but decided against it as I have always had trouble with inserting tampons so felt that I would have the same issues with a cup. I went with ModiBodi period undies and absolutely love them. So comfy to wear and easy to clean.

I'm glad you've found a product that works for you.

Personally, I prefer disposable products. In my experience though, the reusable crowd are extremely preachy about my preference.

No one deserves to be shamed for their period product choices.

Weird. I've never observed that. I tried a cup and then swapped to undies to avoid issues like forgetting to restock lol. The undies are easier camping too.

I didn't read it as anyone being shamed at all...

I'm glad you have found a method that works for you, but please remember that even though you don't find that it's gross etc, that's not everyone's experience and feeling.

Personally I have terrible trouble putting ANYTHING up there (yes, even a tampon, even a d**k, unfortunately - penetrative sex has been painful since I had my baby, via c-section, mind you) so cups, even if I wanted to use one I couldn't.

I've tried period undies (ModiBodi) and the gusset sealing came unstuck within a month and the absorbent parts didn't come up high enough for me, so I leaked at the front, especially at night. I haven't found any other period undies in my size and I prefer tailored coverage so pads are it for me. I'm considering buying or making reusable ones in the near future, but honestly, I'd just prefer not to have a period at all.

I was just saying how over my period I was. If I could stop it (without a bunch of side effects) I would.

I hated mine. Could never get into it which is a shame because I would have loved to never have to spend money on tampons or pads again.

I use a combo of everything. What suits me one day won’t make me comfortable another day depending on flow etc.

So I cycle between undies, cup, tampon and pad. I get huge variances in my cycle (most likely due to age). It took two different brands to get the right cup for me and I’m the smaller size despite my age and having babies.

I cant freaking get the hang of one. Ive tried so many types, shapes and months ect ect and can never consistently get one sealed. I can only manage sometimes to get it sealed in the shower but most of the time, my body just ends up pushing it out 🤦‍♀️

Whenever I've managed to keep it sealed, its a fucking game changer because its so freaking clean and hidden, until you jump in the shower to remove it.

(Yeah its gross if you try and remove it on the toilet but I always jump in the shower to do it)

Its so good to see a few different answers and even some suggestions to the undies that seem to be a hit!!
I most definitely would not shame anyone.for their choices and this post 100% was never aimed of having a go at anyone who choses to use disposables.
As the post said, It was a post to help women to want to try, thought about trying or had bever heard of it before :)

Don’t forget that women with a prolapse (like myself) aren’t allowed to use them as it’s not sealed correctly. Last thing someone needs is buying one with a prolapse when they can’t use it

I didn't know that! Wow! Makes sence but! Good to know :)
Hopefully you find what works for you, I've never had anything to do with prolapse

I have a growth(non cancerous yay) but can't have it removed until covid backlog ends. I have period pretty much all month due to it. Has any one used a cup with uterus growths. Over using tampons and cant handle pads or the period undies. TIA
