Starting kindergarten, lunch box vs reusable bags

My son starts kindergarten Monday 😁 just wonder if any parents used reusable sandwich/snack bags instead of a lunch box? Are they easy for them to open, is freshness good, good for space reasons, do they get lost?

I would go for containers versus bags. Bags don’t protect against crushing and bruising of food, and I think you’ll find the bags will be accidentally thrown out.

I only use containers - easy to label and easy to clean. In kindy the teachers and aids help them open the containers and as mentioned above they aren't likely to accidentally end up in the bin.

Reusable bags suck. Food gets squashed, ants get in, they're less easy to clean.... my list could go on forever. A cooler lunch box, containers for snakes, fruit, sandwiches etc and a little ice brick (if a fridge isn't available) wins hands down! Don't waste your money like I did.
