FELLOW Seamstress's

Hello ladies..

I want to know who taught you to sew...

I really want to learn, have for a very very long time.. only i haven't anyone to teach.

We love very rural so i have searched time and time again but we don't have classes and i've left things on noticeboards...

I've recently picked up a bargain of a little machine but have no idea what to do with it. Where to begin and how to start.

I want to learn everything.

One day i'll maybe make clothes, and scrunchies and pillow cases etc 🤷‍♀️

Any advice, tips, tricks, beginner need to knows.

Over load me. I am all ears and sooo keen.

There are some great YouTube tutorials. Start with something simple like a little gift bag /drawstring bag. It's just 3 sides and a day them to thread a string through.
Get some cheap material and just practice threading and using your machine. Sewing straight lines- it's quite tricky. Then small girls dresses and tops - the simple ones. By then you may know what you can and can't do and also have your own ideas on how to keep it simple and make things work.

YouTube, pdf patterns (they come with step by step photos and instructions on everything) and Facebook pages for support. Tadah for kids and pattern emporium for you are a great place to start. I sew for my kids and me. I'm slow but my results are perfect and I've never had a lesson ever. Can't follow an old school pattern though....
