Can anyone please recommend a book for boys 8-12yrs about the birds and the bees and puberty?
If you're comfortable to do so, your son will appreciate you talking to him one on one a lot more. Keep the conversation open and be willing to answer any questions he may have. There's nothing worse than being handed a book and that being the explanation you get.
Some children respond better to a book they can peruse at their own leisure, these types of conversations would fill me with anxiety as a kid/teen. The "girl stuff" book I had was a godsend, cold hard facts I could devour in my own time, not anecdotal awkwardness forced on me from my parents who were trying to be lighthearted and 'open'.
Some kids will appreciate that the conversation wasn't forced but the information was still provided!
OP, to answer your question. Google puberty books for boys and you'll be spoilt for choice!
Head into your local library and ask them what books they have. You’ll have a wide range to choose from and can pick one that explains everything at level your child will understand, as some books are very basic while others are very in-depth.
