Potty Training.

My son is 2.5 years old. He does wees on the toilet perfectly, no worries at all. But when it comes to a poo, he is petrified. Won't go near it and asks for a nappy on and will go and hide.

How can I get him out of this habit of pooing in his nappy and that the toilet isn't scary.

He just wants to hide and poo.

He's 2.5. Just leave it and he will start when he's ready

Agree. He is fairly young still, even for wees on the toilet. My son was 4 before he could manage wee even.
Just let the number twos on the loo happen when he is ready.

He’s clearly not ready for it so don’t push it. 2.5 is still very young for toileting and the more you push the issue the scarier and harder it will be for him, and the more “accidents” he’ll have. It’ll happen when he’s ready for it. My daughter was 3.5 before she toilet trained, I waited til she showed me the signs that she was ready for it and she was trained in 3 days for both wees and poo, and in the 2 years since then she’s had a total of 4 “accidents” (and 3 of them have been because somebody else was in the toilet and took too long to get out).
