Child support and redundancy

Child support and redundancy

My ex had been at his job for like 9years and recently got made redundant and got a very big pay out. I haven't been getting the usual amount of child support, so I rang up and they told me he was ahead. ( which is strange because I'm getting way less ). I informed them about the redundancy and they said he needs to tell them.
Any ways I told the ex about it and he said he told them that he is no longer working.
Does he still have to pay his usual child support while he is living off his redundancy??

I was in this situation. No, he'll pay the minimum based on no income. At the end of the financial year he owed money but he didn't pay it.

My partner called child support several times when he was facing redundancy to find out what would happen in regards to payments. Each time he was told that she was not entitled to a cent of his payout. He was made redundant and then the place decided they would cover him for workers comp and do surgery etc... So his child support was worked worked out on his compo payments. The payments were still garnished from his wages while he got the compo payments.

I went through this. I filed a change of assessment as he refused to disclose the redundancy to csa. Csa ended up getting that info off the previous employer & set the support amount for the amount of time his payout covered. When I asked csa why they didn't ask when he called & advised he wasn't working, they said because it's his responsibility & it will come out when he does his tax. My argument was that by the time he did his tax the money would be gone & I'd get nothing anyway. The case assessor said that's the system they have to work with. So file a change of assessment under special circumstance 8a I think is it.
