Dog bark deterrent

Dog bark deterrent

We live on acreage and our dog wears a beep collar so that she can’t escape … BUT her barking has now become excessive. She will not even allow people to walk on the other side of the road without her barking.

A barking collar is not an option - so I’m wondering if anyone has had any luck with another bark deterrent. The ones I’ve seen on www aren’t convincing

She is not stressed - just thinks she’s doing her “job” guarding that fence line but it’s now excessive and not fair on neighbours

I was talking to a ranger today and she said that there is dog collars that spray out citronella when they bark and because they don't like it, it stops them.

We used one of these, it simply makesto dogs yelp and the sprey continues.

Dog whistle can help. Honestly go out and pull the collar up, not back and body block her, but this will have to be consistent. Honestly, a mild zapwont hurt

It will be really hard to control if you're on acreage. I think the only way to do it without a collar is reprimand while in the act which will be really hard to do when the dog is in such a large area. We used a shock collar for my dog as we had close neighbours that she was annoying while we were at work. The collar worked well, I know not everyone agrees with them but we would have eventually have had to rehome her if we couldn't control her barking which is worse than a little zap imo. I haven't tried the sprays but I know the collars that only vibrate are useless unless transitioning from shock to buzz so they think it's going to shock them.

Thanks everyone but I need ideas that don’t involve another collar

She already has a collar to keep her inside the boundary that can’t be taken off her

Has anyone used those sensors kept in the yard that makes high pitched noise when dog barks?
