Help!!! Today my 5 year old daughter came to me and told me that my seven year old son asked her friend (also 5) to show him her vagina, which she quite happily did. When I asked him about it he told me he didn’t. I know he definitely did because he wouldn’t look at me when I was trying to speak to him about it. What do I even do about this. I’m beside myself with worry, and I have no idea how to handle this situation. I told him if he was ever curious to come speak to me or his dad but to never ask to see anyones private area. Has anyone else been in a similar situation. I just can’t stop feeling anxious about the whole thing :(

He's just that curious. He's just wondering what it looks like. I'm guessing he's never seen you nor his sister naked? Have a chat to him about why he can't do that. The other girl also needs to be talked to about not showing anyone her privates just because they ask. Make sure her parents know
This is totally normal child development. However of course it needs to be stopped.
For this reason when the kids have play dates we have a rule of playing in the loungeroom, outside etc where the kids can be seen.
