I just lost my job, they were under paying me for over a year and have found out now they have decided to sack me. So Christmas will be a little money poor this year, anyone have any ideas on best ways to save money

Due to a change in circumstances, I Am leaving my full time job and will be "Staying home" with my 3 year old. My child loves preschool much more than being at home but without my wage we will only be able to afford to send him one day per week. I'm after ideas on keeping him busy during the week...
