Early labour, advice and experiences

Started getting contractions at 34 weeks, they were regular, painful although bearable, and nothing i did eased them or changed regularity. So i rang the maturity ward and got told to come in, i was inteed getting contractions, they kept me in overnight and continued to monitor and they gave me oral tablets to help reduce/stop contractions and steroid shots to help bubs lungs develop, as i tested positive on a swap indicating that bub would potentially come earlier. Was sent home today, contractions did stop, however the back pain and pelvic pain im now getting is rather painful, which doesn't change if im laying down, sitting or standing. Im also getting what i believe is BH contractions as i get tightenings accross the belly, but no pain. (Which i got for a few hours before the contractions, never had BH any other time apart from then) I was told that the steroid shots need at least 24 hours to be effective for bub. Which im sure bub can hold tight until then haha, but could these signs be pointing to bub is perhaps planning an arrival within the next week or 2. Has anyone else experienced something similar or can offer advice.

My son was born at 34 weeks. My water broke spontaneously and he was born within 4 hours. No time for steroid shots to be effective. He was in nicu for just over a week before we could bring him home. He is now a very healthy and happy 7 year old.
