Home IPL treatments

Hi Ladies! I'm sure a lot of you can relate... I am so fed up with constantly plucking, shaving and waxing my face and body hair! I'm a rather hairy person and my hair grows fast and thick! And unfortunately it's dark so it's very noticeable. I'm really not keen on going to a salon for laser treatment. I'm considering investing in an IPL system that I can use at home, but want to do my research first. So I'd like to hear from those of you who own / have used an IPL system... What do you have? What do you love about it? Any cons? Have you seen noticeable results? Tell me everything! I'd need one that I can use on my face as well as my body. Thanks in advance!

Okay, I am just like you. So I recently bought the Remington 6500 ipl at home, have being doing it for about 8 weeks, it cost me 479 at Harvey Norman. I got it especially for facial hair (am just doing chin and neck at the moment, will start doing jaw line now I am more confident) it says to do it once every 2 weeks but I do it once a week. I am very white and the hair is black,so the perfect combo. Anyway, I am definitely seeing results. You have to be patient and it is slow to start with but I am so happy. It says you have to burn the same piece of skin 4 times to get results, I don't know about that, but I find it is just growing back in small areas and some parts are staying smooth, they may have even been bits I missed. Also at first, I had it on setting 2 because I was scared, I am now seeing more progress on number 4. I started noticing a hair reduction after doing it every week for 3 weeks, so it may not feel like it, but it is working.

OP here - thanks so much for all that info! I'm going to have a look at the system you have. Thanks!

OP here - I should also add that the main reason I'm not keen on going to a salon for laser treatment is because I live rurally and would need to travel 1.5 hours each way for every treatment. As a single mum with two kids at school that's not an easy thing to do so doing it at home would be easier and cheaper. I don't mind how long it takes, as long as I get results.
