My 11mo is teething (top middle teeth)atm and when she was having her nap today I had a look at as she doesnt let me touch when she is awake. However when I was looking I noticed she has suspected ( i am taking her to the docs) liptie. Has anyones babys have this? Did you get it lasered? Did you leave it? Did it affect your child's teeth or speech? Im not sure I want to put her through the laser treatment unless I really need too. Any advice/stories would be greatly appreciated.

My son had lip tie at the top. He had a very big gap between his front teeth with a large amount of skin in there which wrapped around to the top of the month. Our baby nurse noticed it and we saw a paedatric dentist who recommended it be removed. We had this done before he was 2. His recommendation for removal was basically that leaving it there greater a risk for infection, removing it early allowed time for the teeth to move together (which they have) and if we waited til his baby teeth fell out he would more than likely need braces. The operation itself involved him being knocked out which was scary and he wasn't a happy camper when he came around but once we got him home (a few hours later) and he he had something to eat and drink and a nap he was fine and went back to daycare the next day.
