Covid nightmares

This probably sounds silly but I have just spent 2 weeks with covid. I was very ill and found it very traumatic. I have been through the wringer. Does anyone else feel like they will have nightmares for life, over their covid positive experience. I did not ever think that I would get so ill and experience what I did in those 2 weeks. I have had colds & flu numerous times and never been this ill before. When I go to sleep at night, I feel myself panicking over my recent covid experience and have had a few nightmares, the last few nights. It was a scary having covid and I hope I don’t have to experience it again.

I have also heard of many people on my local community pages, developing blood clots with in a few weeks - a month of having covid. Has any one experienced this? Is there anything to help prevent it? I know the signs of blood clots. Covid was so unpredictable, I now worry about blood clots. I will learn to get past this anxiety as time goes on but hell that was scary.

Our covid experience was miserable but relatively uneventful.

However, my husband and I both had swine flu back in the day. I got it relatively mildly which was lucky as I was pregnant but my hubby got it really badly, ended up in hospital briefly, was bed ridden for approximately 3 to 4 weeks and probably took another 3 ton4 weeks on top of that to actually start feeling like a human being again.

It affected him psychologically. I think in part due to the hysteria in the media and in part because he genuinely felt like he was going to die from being so sick. Coming face to face with your mortality is pretty confronting.

Even now 13 years later, I still see a level of anxiety creep in when he gets sick and I honestly don't blame him.

Have you considered speaking to someone about your feelings/experience?
The pandemic itself has been scary and I think a good majority of people have felt a heightened sense of anxiety because of it and I definitely don't think you'd be alone in feeling somewhat traumatised after having a severe case of covid.

My covid experience was really shit. 2 months of struggling to breath and 4 months to get back to mostly myself.
I wouldn’t say I was traumatised but mainly because once you’ve witnessed your kid stop breathing multiple times it’s hard for much to get you.
Don’t be afraid to seek some mental health support for yourself.
