Can not recommend it enough.!
We moved in late Nov last year from VIC & have zero regrets.
We live in Bushland Beach & LOVE it.! A little out of town - but everything we need is literally less than 20mins away.
The town itself get a poor rap surrounding crime - but it’s no different to anywhere else. Be vigilant, lock up & don’t leave valuables in your cars etc.
There is SO much available to do, see & explore. Lots of free activities for kids & families. If there is nothing in town on for the wkend - take your time to explore Magnetic Island - short trip via ferry - or some of the local swimming creeks.
You will be spoilt for choice.!
As for schools - state schools are all zoned, otherwise plenty of Catholic & private schools around too. Will be up to you which path you choose.!
