Nursing Home

I’m after recommendations on the absolute best nursing home for dementia. I don’t care where in Sydney it is as long as it’s the absolute best, I’m from the hills area, from what I’ve heard is if you pay an extra fee on top of the normal scheduled fee you can get a much better home. Please any recommendations would be extremely appreciated. I’m an absolute mess trying to find a place for my loved one. When I say the best I mean really nice and clean place with kind and caring staff.

I would recommend St Mary's Villa in Concord. They are the best in the provision of care, cleanliness, compassion, care, dignity, respect. The dementia unit is also a secure unit. Because of this there is a long waiting list so check it out immediately, they may not even have vacancies on their waiting list. As for paying extra this does not affect the care of the residents (nor should it) it refers only to perhaps having a "nicer" experience for example with dining; a linen napkin, more expensive table wear, a glass of wine (if medically permitted), perhaps a personalised laundry service, definitely does not add to the "care" that is universal.
