IUD

IUD

I would like to hear people experiences on their IUD? I have endometriosis and my OBGYN has said he can put one in for me when I have surgery.
Im sexually active and DO NOT want any more kids right now.
I also have cysts on my ovaries and have suffered from cystic acne through out my life. I have had one year of clear skin after hundreds of dollars were spent on dermatologist. Im worried the IUD will bring them back.
Also do you or your sexual partner feel the strings?
Much appreciated on all your advice x

Lots of questions, I'll try my best to share my experiences the best I can.

I got my 1st IUD (hormonal) at 16, too have struggled with acne issues, and personally, my acne got better throughout the years I had it. I wouldn't give ALL the credit to the IUD, I think in part it had a lot to do with just getting older.

Then, I got my 2nd IUD (hormonal) at 22 a couple of weeks after my baby. It didn't hurt AT ALL, which was amazing! The first time was very unpleasant, but worth it! You mentioned you had kids, so I am hopeful (assuming) you too would have an easy implantation of the IUD.

I feel like no one can guarantee your experience, because everyone's experience is very different. Maybe just try your best to be mindful and listen to your body. You can always get it taken out, if in dire need to. Also, perhaps you could look into the non-hormonal IUD?? Then you wouldn't need to worry about the acne or any other changes hormones can cause. I chose the hormonal one because I didn't want a period, looking back I think the non-hormonal one would've been a better fit, but I'm still very happy with the one I have.

Lastly, my husband was getting hurt by the IUD string (I thought it was an a actual string, but apparently it's a wire haha) it kept poking the tip of his penis, but only when he was going all the way in. If your partner is on the smaller side in length, I would think he'd be, completely fine. I just had to go back of the doctor and they cut more of the string off, and it solved that issue immediately.

Hoped some of this helped!! ♥️

Hubby commented about it feeling weird afterwards - but I’d had surgery and I’d also done a little trim. I had asked him if it was “spiky”. He said that “yep, that’s how you’d describe it…”. A day or so later I asked him about it again, about if it was spiky inside or out - and he said it was “spiky inside!” Went back to the GP who trimmed the strings. And then ensured that my latter ones were trimmed too..
Good luck!

I had one for 4yrs. Worked well until I fell pregnant with it in! My doctor was so shocked but not as shocked as I was.
