Potty training ASD toddler

Help!! My 2.5yr old ASD son refuses to wear nappies and refuses to potty train. I put him on the potty play with him sing everything nothing happens and no joke less then 5 mins after giving up he will go and pee on my brand new rug or poop in the toy corner and try hid it. He also takes off his nappy in bed and has accidents in there as well. How do I potty train this child? I've been going for the length of lockdown now and it's driving me insane.

You are probably going to need professional help for this. We literally had to put my son in clothes that meant he couldn’t get his nappy off, until he was ready to train. It wasn’t fun.
Once he was ready for potty training (could hold a decent amount of time) we literally contained him in an area of the house, let him go naked and shadowed him around the house and caught the pee and poop in the potty. Doing that allowed us to observe the cues that he was about to go and use that as a prompt to take him to the potty area. He’d hold on for AGES once he got there.
It was a hard slog, and I got nothing else done. But once it clicked it clicked

Put him in zip up onesies and put them on backwards until you can get him toilet trained. My ASD son took til 4 to train but some children take alot longer.

Just to add to my original comment - try not reacing to accidents in a big way. I know it's annoying just gently remind him to go on the potty. Put the poo in the potty to show him where it goes but any kind of over the top reaction or annoyance is going to make him hide it better next time. He needs to feel there is no shame in doing a poo. He might think it's a bad thing to poo which is why he hides.

That’s a really good idea! I have no info about the toilet training but If you can afford one, a bissel carpet cleaner is worth the investment for the accidents!
