How can I help my daughter who is being bullied?

My 12 year old daughter has just been bullied at school. There was 2 rumours that started about her. One was that she is gay and has a girlfriend and the other one was quite disgusting! I’m not going to go in to detail but it was disgusting! She is so upset and heartbroken, and my heart breaks for her. She was called some pretty bad names and now not one single one of her friends will talk to her. Some of them even blocked her from all social media. I’m not sure what to do? I’ll be definitely speaking to the school about it but now she has no friends. I can’t make them be her friends again. I’m so scared for her to go back to school now because she is going to be picked on again and be all alone! What am I going to do? She wants to be home schooled now and I’m actually considering it. I am so sad for her.

Distance Ed or home school are great options, or even another school but I’d def remove her from this hell.

That is sad and so common now. I would pull them all up on it, send all proof to their parents and teachers then change schools. Don't let them get away with it they will just keep doing it to other kids as they go through high school.

I would also point out that they are being very homophobic whether that's true or not, that's not cool these days.

I'd be telling the school to deal with it very promptly and seriously or advising that you will be taking it further. I'd start with involving the state education board but even go so far as considering deformation. Teasing, whether true or falsified, over matters such as this is cruel, illegal and a very high trigger for suicide. If my child did that, they'd have the seriousness of the situation well and truly speller out and be asked how they were going to be a part of restoring her self esteem and reputation. And I'd request updates on how their actions to correct the situation was going. Hopefully some other parents will also be able to use this as a very clear learning situation.

TBH if the rumours are that bad that her friends are not speaking to her I'd move schools.
