Tired, sore legs, weight gain - help

Yes I've been to the doctors, and multiple ones but running out of ideas.. sorry it's long...
So awhile ago I started to get really tired, I couldn't get through a day without sleeping and this was after sleeping 7-10hrs at night. Also i started to gain weight (about 15kg). Dr checked iron, thyroid, vitamin d and a few other things. Vitamin d and iron came back low so went on supplements. Tiredness never went away even though levels rose. Dr basically said just lose weight and put me on duromine. Tiredness still didn't go away and I didn't lose any weight on duromine. Dr basically ran out of ideas so I just left it. Then I went through a fairly traumatic experience with my partner so focused on that and I had finally got my weight back down 10kg but still tired. Covid hit and could only do phone appointments which were useless as they wouldn't order more bloods to check my levels again. Finally got back into see face to face Dr but before I went, I privately paid to get a full blood test done to cut out some of the work (my original Dr no longer was working anymore). Dr didn't focus on anything I had to say and more or critizing me for getting my own bloods done when he could have done that. They showed my thyroid to be off a bit so he ordered new test of that. Go back to get results and see a different Dr at the same practice and give her all my symptoms, Tiredness, waking up with sore legs, slight weight gain (had gained about 7kg again), random migraines. She wouldn't tell me the exact results of thyroid test and recommended I get counselling for anxiety of being tired everyday. I said I get anxious as I have to clearly work my day around a nap or I'll be forever leaving work early or I will fall asleep on my desk and that doesn't explain why my legs from hip to toe are so sore when I wake up. Her words to me was tell me what tests you want done as your iron is fine now and vitamin d deficiency doesn't cause Tiredness. Said maybe the traumatic experience I had is why I am tired even though this started a year before that and doesn't explain having sore legs or weight gain.
So any ideas what to ask the Dr to test for or what this could be?

you need to find a womens health dr. they take a holistic look at everything going on, not just testing and then throwing hands up and thats the end. if youre not better, thats not the end!

and i do think it could be related to your mental health. do not underestimate how that can come through in physical symptoms, especially tired and aching muscles thats a response to anxiety because your body floods with adrenalin and then its all gone. and also depression, its physically hard to move and start doing things. you need to see the professionals, do the work, take the meds, and keep on revisiting each part of the issue.

Blood glucose. The onset of type two diabetes often manifests in extreme tiredness.

It would have shown up

Not if she didn’t do the 2 hour glucose tolerance test. Her glucose could have been in normal range depending on what she ate. Gold standard diagnostic tool is the GTT

Also Hba1c blood test will give an average of blood glucose over the past 3 months, it’s another good one to check.

This is me all over!! I just wrote a post about my leg pain and deleted it then I saw this just after. I have gained weight also but now they believe mine is gluten or an allergy to something. Did they check your vitamin B and magnesium levels. I’m also starting duromine. I could have written this myself. I’m exhausted!

Lay down and put your legs up the wall, it will relieve the pressure on them, it helps me. I try to remember to do it daily.

OP again. I got all my B vitamins and magnesium levels testes in the private blood tests as they refused to test for these. They came back lower but in normal range. I currently take a multivitamin hoping it helps.

What country are you in coz i didn’t think you could request your own blood test in Aus?

In Australia. You can get the script online at imedical and then take it to the blood collection agency they are teamed with. They email you all results. You can then either have a phone consultation with them or take results to your own doctor.

Go to a bulk billing Dr and request them all to be checked again. Tell them you want all your vitamins checked. Vitamin B really makes a difference.

It’s not anxiety so don’t let them pass it off. Your symptoms are real and not anxiety. You get anxiety from your symptoms.

OP here.. Yes!! This exactly what I feel. I've tried to say it's the symptoms causing my anxiety. I feel there is more and I'm determined to get an answer

I have all these symptoms, I’ve had nerve pain and been through hell and back. Had many tests and been to hospital a few times. Bloods showed nothing so sent me home. I am not waiting to see a rheumatologist and for an allergy test. I know there is something wrong! I know my body. They tell me it’s anxiety but it is not what is causing this. I get anxiety from not knowing. I do believe it’s
Food related with me. The weight also causes more
Pressure and fluid. I feel your pain! I am
So over it all. See a rheumatologist and cut out gluten and see if you notice a change.

Ask for a Doppler ultrasound on your legs to check for veinous insufficiency . Also lymphoedema and lipoedema cause weight gain , especially in the lower limbs and cause sore, tired , achy legs.

A body composition scan also shows if there is too much fluid in the body and how much, which can cause the above symptoms.
