My friend thinks my name is Jacinta when it's really Jessica

I am in a dilly of a pickle.

I have made a new friend through my daughter at Kinder.

Really lovely lady.

But she thinks my name is Jacinta when my name is really Jessica.

What do I do?

We see each other a bit, daughters having a play date every few weeks.
Meeting each other at parks, visiting each others homes and out girls with both be at the same school next year.

She just started calling me Jacinta one day and I've not bothered to correct her. I just never say anything when she calls me Jacinta.

Think she wants to add me on fb.
But what do I do on telling her my name is not Jacinta but Jessica?

Shes from a non English speaking background (I'm not sure if it's relevant but I don't want to upset her) and is as nice as pie, I don't want to hurt her feelings!

Tell her how it is spelt so she can add you. If she says anything, just say people mis-hear Jessica and Jacinta a lot so you're used to it. No big deal

I really love people that drop their own name into conversations. "So I was about to buy it and my mum was like, JESSICA, YOU ALWAYS DO THIS!!"
2nd option, write a note. A thanks for being a friend card, or playdate invite and give your number and NAME!!
Or you'll have to just have the awkward convo of hey, I think you've been saying Jacinta but it's actually Jessica.

If she has an accent then you can play dumb and say “oh, i honestly didn’t realise you were saying Jacinta, i thought it was just how you said my name with your accent” 💜

When I was a kid my neighbour for whatever reason thought my name was Jane, my actual name is about as far from Jane as you can get so I have no idea how that came about lol.
I was just too polite and shy to correct her.

It's been 30 years and that neighbour still thinks I'm Jane 😂

So my advice is say something now, the longer you leave it, the harder it gets to bring it up.

Do you go by Jess at all? If you do maybe you could just tell her to call you Jess because that's what everyone calls you. She may put two and two together then.

Haha I've done this. But I was calling a colleague a totally different name for a while before she was like umm its actually Deborah. I was like ooooh.... sorry 🤣.

Just give her your fb. If she says anything to you, just say either "I didn't even notice, so not even a problem!" or "it's fine, it often gets mixed up" something along those lines.

Hahaha I have a funny name and people call me the wrong name all of the time. I just let them do it and eventually someone else corrects them.
