child support

hi IMs!
I have a 10 year old and I am receiving the minimum child support for her ($14 a fortnight 🙄)
I haven't been able to work due to disability since she was born but I've just found a job working for home, it's not much, around $200-$300 a week but that might increase as I do more hours.
my question is, do I need to do a new child support assessment? I don't care about losing the paltry amount I'm getting but I don't want to poke the bear so to speak. he hasn't seen my child in years and I want to keep it that way.

I really doubt you earning more would mean his $14 a fortnight would be affected… I’d leave it.. I mean it’s only $168 in the year if you ever had to pay it back just - your willing to at $7 a week!

You do need to update but it won't affect the assessment. Just make sure your percentage of care is up to date too.

If she is in your care at all times, it won’t change how much he pays you.

When I reentered the workforce a few years ago after being a SAHM for many years, I rang CSA to let them know I had started working. I was told that they couldn’t accept an income update for me until I had lodged my tax return at the end of the financial year. So if you didn’t lodge a tax return for the 20/21 financial year they can’t do a new assessment until next year.

You can ask for a change of assessment
