NSW Ambulance Control Centre Roll

Hey Sisterhood,

I am looking at a career change. I’m in my mid 30’s and for the past 15 years I have been working in an administration / payroll / bookkeeper roll.
2 weeks ago I applied for an Ambulance Call Centre Roll and I have made it to the first round of online testing.
I guess what I’m looking for is some feedback from those who work in the same kind of roll (not necessarily NSW). Was it hard to make is through the various different stages of the recruitment process, do you enjoy the roll, that kind of thing.

Thanks In Advance Xx

Personally, I hated it. Left after 7 weeks. It's very micromanaging which I hate and quite bitchy because it's mostly young females. Plus 12 hour shifts with some very odd start times, you miss out on a lot of family time and pretty much can say goodbye to ever having NYE or Christmas off. Also hated being sworn at constantly by callers. It is quite stressful, you have a lot of responsibility esp when it comes to instructing people how to do CPR over the phone. But everyone is different ! The process was fairly alright to get in. Just be yourself and be very empathetic but not to let things personally affect you because that is what they are looking for.
