Photography course online

I’m a single sahm of 2 children (11 & 3), I want to do a photography course online that doesn’t cost too much, I started a course a few years ago through open colleges that was actually quite hard to complete, it was asking in some assessments to attend live performances (band, weddings etc), something with a bit easier expectations to complete would be great, I’m also rural so going through TAFE isn’t as easy as it could be either. I’ve always had a passion for photography so I would love to complete a course that could help me in years to come once my youngest is at school. Thanks ladies, very much appreciated x

I tried to do an online course - it was too hard for a beginner. I just didn’t get it. But I picked up a few bits and bobs but in the end never finished and was a waste of money.

I did however find online learning via Facebook. Photographers don’t need formal qualifications to do photography and I just stumbled onto Established Photographers Facebook pages and groups selling their knowledge in video tutorials.

I highly recommend Meg Bitton - she’s in America but all of her online courses she provides are phenomenal. And made the penny drop for me.

You can join her FB group (just search her)
and she’s always doing sales (dollar conversion can make it a bit more pricey). But she does $5 sales, $19 sales which makes it affordable and you just buy the stuff you are interested in learning about.

She shows you so much in her online forum you can learn every aspect from the artistic side to the business side.

Posing, editing, light, photoshop tutorials.
How to use your equipment, how to set up a business, styling shoots, outdoor shoots, studio style shoots, equipment to use and the list goes on.
Sounds overwhelming to explain it all here. But take a look.
I went from taking really terrible snap shots and not understanding my equipment to amazing art that I want printed and on my wall every time.
Another option is to seek out a photographer near you and start learning from them. I find it to be the easiest way.
I wish you all the best!
