How do I get soft silky hair for my daughter

Does anyone have any hair tips. My daughter and I both have long hair. Mine always seems dry, frizzy and fine. My daughters is always so thick and feels like horse hair some days.

Has anyone got any advice on best shampoo conditioner for this especially my daughters. Also any other tips from hair dressers, that will leave my daughters hair nice and soft each day for school.

Could it be something to add to her diet that could help? Or am I washing it too much for her. wash it twice a week. Should I leave some conditioner in.? Rinse with cool water? I hear so many things that I am confused. Nothing seems to help. I have tried leave in conditioners nothing really does much unless I wash and blow dry but I can’t do that everyday.

Any hair ideas would be so appreciated. I’m not the best in the girly department. I do probably use the crappiest shampoos from supermarket but so do others who don’t have this problem so I don’t know what I am doing wrong.

I'd take her to a decent hair dresser get her hair a good cut and ask them what would be best to wash her hair in to soften it. It'll probably become more oily soon as she hits puberty

I have take her to several and they all tell me her hair is beautiful. It’s only because it looks beautiful when they do it 😂 I didn’t think of the puberty thing thanks.

Find out what products they use when they do it. Thick hair is beautiful. Keep reminding your daughter that.

Do you both have frizz and dry hair? Is it possible you both actually have curls? Moisture is what you need and will help a lot. Join some curly girl groups on FB and get some ideas for new products for you both. The Curly Kindness group (Australia) is my fave - no drama or strict rules. Some of the CG groups are akin to a cult, so if you do decide to join just be aware.

For my curls I don't use shampoo at all, I use Goat Conditioner (Lemon Myrtle) to cleanse and Goat Conditioner (Argan) to condition. Lots of conditioner and water, no brushing hair dry (can comb when wet) and product in when wet, dry with t-shirt or microfibre to keep moisture in.

Thanks so much this is amazing advice. I will join the group. Don’t have curls as such maybe a little wavy but mostly just really dry feeling. I have purchased hair dressers products but I am hopeless with all these things. I do think we brush too much when dry, now that I have read this.
