Nipple piercing and breastfeeding

Who here has their nips done, and went on to breastfeed? Did you remove them for each time you were feeding and put them back in? Did you leave them out permanently? Did you get them redone after you finished feeding?
I love my piercings I don’t want to loose them, if I had too I’d 100% get them redone, but if I can get some insight into how others dealt and kept them in that’d be great 😅

My friends mum was a midwife and once told a story of someone who had their nipples pierced and didn’t take them out early enough in the pregnancy for them to close over before bub was born. Apparently it made the flow too fast for bub, practically flooding bubs mouth at every feed. Speak to your midwife about whether you can feed with the piercings in, or how soon they should be removed during pregnancy.

This is what I’m curious about, will it make the flow too fast for baby. I’ve got an appointment with my midwife in 2 weeks, I’ll speak to them then. Thank you for the feedback.

Had this happen to me with my 2nd born. Took the bar out at around 6 months, bubby used to get way too much milk.
Haven't had it done since then (9 years ago) and am able to successfully breastfeed well. The hole never fully healed, so milk does come out but only in manageable amounts and my son prefers that breast cus he's a guts 😆

Did you leave them out for extended periods? Like over night or did you put em back in after each feed?

How is this even a question?
Your have a baby, you make a lot of sacrifices, this is the first of many.
Take them out, get them redone later if it’s that important.
Breastfeeding can be a difficult process for some, it isn’t as easy as it looks, some babies don’t latch on properly etc.
Don’t make it harder on yourself and your baby because of some aesthetic reason.
Put your baby first.
And I guarantee you’ll love your baby too, even more than the piercings.

It’s not hilarious that some rings inside her “nips” could get infected or increase her babies milk flow/feeding is more important to her.....
Answer DONT do it WITH your piercings.

I took one out at about 17 weeks because it got an infected duct behind it and the other at about 34 weeks in preparation.
I've not been able to successfully BF 2 of my 3 babies. This one being one of them. I tried putting my piercings back in at about 3 weeks post partum and they were closed.
Beware tho, getting them repierced over the scar tissue suuuuuuuucks

I would leave it out and get them redone when you have finished. I think given that breastfeeding is spontaneous and you're not always going to be in the perfect place for breastfeeding you will be at more of a risk of getting an infection due to taking it out and putting it back in so many times. Not only that nipples get sore enough as it is and that is just extra pain you have to deal with. Let your boobs do what they're intended to do then claim them back to do as you wish when your baby has finished with them.

Just take the bloody things out simple really. Put 'em back in After you have completed the breast feeding era

I took mine out when I found out I was pregnant, gross but if I squeezed it a lot of pus would come out the whole time I had it out, however I couldn’t get it back through. I got it re done after I had bubs, the pain was not cool! I then took it out again some years later and after 3 years of having it out managed to get the bar through myself
