Should I get Diastasis recti surgery or try specific exercise programs

My youngest child is 8.5 and I've had my tubes removed so I'm past the baby stage completely.

I still suffer from diastasis recti. I have a 2 finger gap above and below belly button and 4 finger gap in belly button. There is no tension whatsoever in the gap too, just extremely soft and spongy. My pelvic floor is pretty bad too particularly in sex as I can feel much in most positions, never had this issue pre kids.
I work out 4 times a week (weight training) and relatively fit besides this.

I've read some people have managed to get this fixed under the public health system. I do have private health but it is still so costly and trying to save to buy a house so would like to avoid spending our savings.
Has anyone here managed to get it done via public system. I'm in nsw if that helps.

I have signed up to a online program to help try and fix my diastasis recti but seeing it's soo bloody big I wonder if it's even able to be fixed without surgery. Any mummas who've had a similar gap please let me know if you've managed to fix it without surgery and how long it took.

TIA

See a gp and physio first up. Physio can be a woman’s specialist too!
Pelvic floor you can get an tens machine with probe, auto programs ect for under $150 - worked wonders for me and I have a damaged muscle that means I can’t “hold” a kegel. I can pulse them for hours but do not actually physically have the muscle in the right place, (tore it off giving birth) to make them very effective.
Complete game changer for my sex life!! I can feel so much more now.
