Pregnancy tests

Wondering if anyone has any personal experience in regards to testing for pregnancy with an irregular cycle?

I have PCOS and before the end of last year I hadn’t had a period in years. Have had a couple now in a row but still a 59 day cycle and used an ovulation test to track to try and conceive but how long after ovulation could/ would a positive result show?

It's about 2 weeks after ovulation that you would have enough HCG for a positive test. That would make it about 4 weeks since last period for a regular person. I think whenever you feel symptoms is a good time to test. Good luck 🍀

Just a suggestion, the Dr put me on metformin as I also had insulin resistance. This regulated my periods and I ended up with a 29 day cycle rather than 90 days. Worth a thought.

I have pcos. So I know the struggle. It’s probably best first up to see a specialist who knows a lot and cares for pcos. A lot of dr’s are very complacent and don’t know a lot about pcos. Sometimes you can actually have a false positive with ovulation tests and the best way to see if you’ve ovulated is with a blood test. if you have a specialist helping with tracking and fertility medication. This may help. But please don’t do this alone. I was diagnosed when I was around 18yrs and told ‘don’t worry about the pcos until you want to fall pregnant’ it’s so untrue, I wish I had know how to manage pcos and better my life than just have it ignored. I will say one thing though. I did fall naturally with my now 17r old, so it can happen. But I think it’s best to get some sound advice and guidance. Good luck x
