How do people get on money wise while looking after grandchildren while mum and dad are at work? I’m currently on jobseeker.

You shouldn't be looking after them if it's putting you out. They should have access to childcare. Just let them know you need to look for a job so are unable to care for them everyday but will help out in the future if you're free. Dont let yourself be used while falling under.
To be honest theyd probably pay less at child care and you could go to work and make more.
They need to be paying you for your time. Your job, is looking for a job. It’s unaffordable to live off of jobseeker long term. Don’t prioritise child care over looking for work unless they can cover your wage.
I'm on jobseeker and i have my granddaughter every day. Her mum provides all her needs. Clothes, bottles, medicines, car seat, nappies, toys and money for her outings admission fees.. I only provide her milk and food. Its not that hard if the parents are stepping up and providing. Your grandauggters parents work so there's no reason why you should find yourself out of pocket and struggling financially . Speak up.
