Car seat for Triton

Car seat for Triton

Car seat help - we are not parents but will be via adoption one day, we currently transport and care for relatives frequently. I want an easier car seat to put in our 2014 triton dual cab (currently transporting a 3yo). I don't know what I'm looking for specific to the triton and only aiming for up to $150.

It would be good to know what's hard about the install/car seat you currently have?

I've installed car seats in many different types of cars and I know dual cab utes can be a pain in the butt with the anchor point behind the back of the seat; in Australia there's not much we can do about that as the tether is a legal requirement.

$150 isn't much to work with but we may have some recommendations if we get extra info

Old seat is in the second car and adjusting the straps every time we switch is annoying, plus used for an almost 12 month old as well. Old car seat will be replaced with new when we have our own child as we will not know the age until placement. We are looking for a 2nd car seat now for the triton, specifically for the 3 yo. Basically limiting the taking out adjusting and putting back in, car shuffles and switches when we aren't in the right place at time with the right seat - if that makes sense.

I'd go with an easy adjust headrest seat, if you're switching between kids of different ages and stages. Then unless you're switching between forward and rear facing, you can just slide the headrest up and down. They are, unfortunately, on the pricier side. Can you utilise Afterpay or similar to expand your budget?

The Grandeur is one of the best out there and will suit a wide range of ages and stages

Are you wanting a 5 point harness or a booster seat?

I don't know to be honest. Happy to look at any suggestions made. I have a local baby bunting store but they weren't overly helpful.

Any child under 4 must *legally* be in a 5pt harness. It's recommended to keep a child harnessed as long as they fit and there are plenty of seats that will harness to 8 years
